名詞の複数形は語尾で決まる
解説→不規則な複数形をもつ名詞でもある。

名詞の複数形の作り方
ふつうの場合→そのままs pen-pens, boy-boys
s,x,chで終わる語ー+ex class-classes,box-boxes
子音字+ｙ　-ｙをiにかえて+es city-cities.lady-ladies
fで終わる語　ーfをvにかえて+es knife-knives,leaf-leaves
単数形と同じもの　fish-fish
不規則なもの　man-men,child-children

oで終わる語にはesをつけるものと、sをつけるものとがある
potato-potatoes piano-pianos

peopleは普通このままの形で複数扱い

解説→family家族などの名詞は、単数形のままで複数としてあつかわれることがある。
peopleは人々の意味では複数扱い

数えられない名詞はa glass of,acup of などで数える

数えられる名詞にはmany数えられない名詞にはmuchがつく

somethingは形容詞にうしろから修飾される

ふつうsomeは肯定文、anyは否定文、疑問文に使う

この主格と三人称単数形を足すと

先行詞 the dog を　which以下が修飾

whoの先行詞は人、whichの先行詞はもの、動物！
解説whoは主格の身につかうけど、whichは主格、目的語の両方に使います。

thatは先行詞が人もの動物のどれにも使う！
解説→thatは主格、目的格の両方に使う。


目的格の関係代名詞は省略できる！
解説→目的格の関係代名詞は省略してもよいので、先行詞のすぐうしろに主語、助動詞が続くことが出来る

名詞的用法：「～すること」の意味で主語・補語・動詞の目的語になる。
